Ask your ERP anything, in plain English

Atlys Joey connects AI to your company's ERP site. You ask a question the way you would ask a colleague, and the answer comes with figures read from your ERP, as you, a moment ago. Use it in JoeyAI Chat, your company's own chat page, or in the AI app you already use.

Works with any ERP. Ready for an instant demo on MYOB Acumatica and Acumatica; for another ERP, ask us.

AtlysJoey

What Joey is

Joey is run by Atlys and sits between an AI assistant and your ERP site. While the assistant works on your question, it asks Joey to look things up in your ERP, total them and explain them. Joey plugs into AI apps as a custom connector, the standard way they reach outside tools.

This guide shows Joey on MYOB Acumatica, so the buttons, screens and messages quoted here are MYOB's. On another ERP they carry that ERP's own names; everything else works the same way.

As you

You sign in with your own ERP login. Joey sees exactly what your ERP role lets you see, and nothing more.

You confirm every change

Joey reads. Where your company has write access switched on, it can also create and change records, but only after you confirm each one. It never deletes.

Live and quick

Answers come from your ERP itself, and the questions people ask most answer in about a second.

Your company only

Each company has its own Joey address. One connection reaches one ERP company.

  • Answers in seconds, not reports in hours. "Who were our top 10 customers this financial year?" is one question instead of an export and a spreadsheet.
  • Follow-ups in the same chat. The biggest customer, then their largest orders, then what the PDF on the largest one says.
  • Everyone asks in their own words. Sales, accounts, purchasing and the warehouse ask the same system in plain language, and each person sees only what their own ERP login allows.

Two ways to use Joey

Joey comes in two ways. Your company chooses one for its Joey address with your Atlys team: JoeyAI Chat, Joey's own chat page, or your own AI app connected to Joey. Both read your ERP as you, with the same rights, the same speed and the same checks on every change. They differ in where you chat and who keeps the conversation.

JoeyAI Chat keeps the least. Your questions, the answers and the files you add or get back are kept by Joey, encrypted with a key of your own, and deleted when you sign out, and no chat is kept longer than 30 days. Working copies in the AI's own sandbox (where it makes charts and files) expire there within 30 days too. Sensitive or large changes are confirmed on Joey's own page either way.

JoeyAI Chat

JoeyAI Chat is your company's own chat page for Joey: your Joey address with /chat on the end, such as https://joey.atlystech.com.au/your-company/chat. Your Atlys team switches it on for your company and tells you. It works in any browser, and as an app on your phone (see JoeyAI Chat on your phone).

  1. Sign in. Open the address and choose Sign in with MYOB. Your ERP's own page asks for your login, as always, and brings you back to the chat. Joey never sees your password.
JoeyAI Chat's sign-in page with Sign in with MYOB
JoeyAI Chat's own page for your company. The ERP's sign-in follows, then you are in the chat.
  2. Ask. Type in the box at the bottom, or pick a suggestion. Enter sends; Shift+Enter starts a new line. Joey's steps show as it works, each with what it looked up (for example Summary · Sales order, by status), then the answer. Tables have Copy table and CSV, and every answer has Copy.
An answer in JoeyAI Chat with Joey's step and a table of sales orders by status
An answer in JoeyAI Chat: Joey's step with what it looked up, then a table to copy or save as CSV.
  3. Keep going. Ask follow-ups in the same chat. The pencil beside a question edits it; Ask again under the last answer asks it once more. New chat starts another; you can keep up to 20, each named from its first answer. From a chat's ⋯ menu you can rename it, export it as Markdown, ask Joey for a Word or PDF copy of it (made like any file you ask for) or delete it.
  • Files you attach. Use the clip, drop files on the box, or paste a picture: up to 5 a question. Pictures (up to 5 MB) and PDFs (up to 20 MB) are read directly; Excel, Word and PowerPoint files (.xlsx, .xls, .docx, .pptx, up to 20 MB) and large CSV files are opened in the AI's own sandbox; small text files go into your question.
  • Files and charts you get back. Ask for a chart, or for an Excel, Word, PowerPoint or PDF file ("Put this in a spreadsheet", "Make a one-page PDF of it"). Pictures show in the answer; other files appear under it to download. Each chat keeps its own sandbox, so a follow-up can change what was made before.
  • Pages beside the chat. Ask for a dashboard or a one-page view ("Make a dashboard of our open orders"); choose Open and it shows in a panel beside the chat, where its buttons work. It runs sealed off there: it can't reach your ERP, Joey, this page or the internet. Download keeps a copy; Esc or the cross closes it.
  • Speak and listen. The microphone in the box (where your browser offers one) types what you say; check it, then send. Your browser asks once if JoeyAI Chat may use the microphone. Listen under an answer reads it aloud. Both use your browser's own speech: some browsers send the sound to their maker's online service to turn it into words. Nothing goes to Joey until you press send.
  • The web, where your company allows it. If your Atlys team switches it on for your company, JoeyAI Chat can also search the public web and read public pages for facts that aren't in your ERP (a tax rate, a public rule, a published price). Joey is told never to put your company's data in a search, and the searches show as steps. It is off unless your company asks for it.
  • Your allowance. The foot of the chat list shows how much of your JoeyAI Chat allowance you've used in the last 5 hours, the last 7 days and this month, and at 80% of the month Joey tells you once. If you reach a limit for now, Joey tells you when you can ask again; when the month's allowance is used, your chats stay to read until it renews on the 1st.
  • Everyday questions too. Joey takes every question as one about your business and your ERP first. Something unrelated, such as wording an email or a general question, it answers like any AI assistant, from the same allowance.
  • Light or dark. JoeyAI Chat opens light; the switch at the top changes it for that browser tab.

JoeyAI Chat on your phone

JoeyAI Chat works on your phone as an app, Atlys JoeyAI, added from your phone's browser: no app store needed. It is the same chat, with the same chats on your phone and your computer. You can be signed in on one browser and one phone at a time.

  1. Add it to your home screen. Open your JoeyAI Chat address on your phone. On an iPhone, in Safari tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open JoeyAI from your home screen to sign in there (an iPhone keeps the app's sign-in separate from Safari's). On Android, choose Add JoeyAI to your home screen on the sign-in page, or Install app in the browser's menu.

The sign-in page on a phone: add it to your home screen, then sign in with your ERP or with a code from your computer.
  2. Sign in one of two ways:
    • With your ERP login, as on your computer: Sign in with MYOB and your ERP's own page.
    • With a code from your computer, if you're signed in to JoeyAI Chat there: on your computer choose your name, then Sign in on your phone. On your phone tap Signed in on your computer? Scan its code instead, then Scan the code (the camera opens inside JoeyAI) or type the ten letters and numbers shown. Your computer then asks Allow your iPhone to use JoeyAI Chat?: choose Allow only if it's your phone in your hand. No ERP password is typed on the phone. A code lasts two minutes and works once.

The account menu on a phone, listing the iPhone and the computer
Signed in on your phone and your computer, with Sign out for each.
  • One browser and one phone. Signing in on another phone signs out the one before, and another browser does the same for your computer. That device's next page says why; your chats stay.
  • Staying signed in. As on your computer: you stay signed in for 30 days from when you signed in, used or not, and then sign in again.
  • Nothing kept on the phone. Your chats stay with Joey, encrypted for you; the app keeps only a page that says you're offline when there's no internet.
  • Links to your ERP and printed forms open in your phone's browser. Your ERP asks you to sign in there the first time, then opens them straight away; Joey never hands its ERP sign-in to a browser.

Changes on a card. Where your company has switched on changes in JoeyAI Chat, a change Joey proposes shows as a card with each field now and after and the record's link. Nothing changes until you press Confirm; Cancel drops it. Typing "yes" doesn't confirm a change. A sensitive or large one shows Open Joey's page instead (see Write access).

A change on a card: each field now and after, how long it waits, the record's link in your ERP, and Confirm or Cancel.

Your ERP login needs the API licence. Joey reads your ERP through its web services, so each person's ERP login needs your ERP's API licence as well as their usual licence and roles. In MYOB Acumatica that is the licence type Full User (Full API), on the Users screen's Licence Types tab; your ERP administrator sets it. Without it you can still sign in, but every question is refused. Your roles still decide what you see.

Joey in your own AI app

You need an AI app that can add a custom connector with its own sign-in: Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Cursor and others follow the standard; most need a paid or business plan, and on a company plan an administrator may add it for everyone first. You also need your ERP login with the API licence and your company's Joey address from your Atlys team, such as https://joey.atlystech.com.au/your-company (nothing after the company's name). Open the address in a browser to check it: Joey says it is ready to be added as a connector.

You connect once in the AI app; after that Joey is there in every chat, and in most apps on your phone too.

  1. Add Joey. In the app's settings find Connectors, Integrations, Apps or MCP servers, add a custom connector named Atlys Joey and paste your Joey address as the server address. Leave any advanced settings (client ID, secret, headers) empty: Joey has its own sign-in.
An illustration: each app's own screen looks a little different and changes over time.
  2. Connect. Choose Connect (or Sign in) next to Atlys Joey. Joey's own page opens, naming the app and your ERP site. Check the site is your company's and choose Continue to MYOB sign-in.

Your ERP's own sign-in page, here MYOB Acumatica
Your ERP's own sign-in page, here MYOB Acumatica. Your company's page may carry your company's own look.
  4. Allow the access. Your ERP lists what Atlys Joey asks for: who you are, the ERP's web services, and offline access so the connection lasts between chats. Choose Yes, Allow.

To check it worked, start a new chat and ask: "Which ERP company am I connected to through Joey?"

Where to add it in each app

Any app that can add a custom connector with sign-in (OAuth 2.1) can use Joey. Menu names change as the apps are updated; the steps below are their makers' own, as of writing.

AppWhere to add JoeyThen
Claude (web, desktop and mobile; Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise)Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector: name it Atlys Joey, paste the address. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it for the organisation.Connect next to Atlys Joey; once connected on the web or desktop it is in the mobile app too.
ChatGPT (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu) and CodexIn ChatGPT on the web: Plugins in the left sidebar › Add › Add custom MCP server. Name it Atlys Joey, put your Joey address in Connection (Server URL) and leave Authentication as OAuth, which ChatGPT picks itself; tick I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin. In the desktop app: Settings › Plugins › Add › Add MCP server, type Streamable HTTP, the address, then Save. Older versions call this Apps & Connectors with Developer mode on; on a company workspace an administrator may add it for everyone. In the Codex command line: codex mcp add atlys-joey --url https://joey.atlystech.com.au/your-company, then codex mcp login atlys-joey.Choose Connect Atlys Joey and sign in with your usual ERP login. To sign in again later: Plugins › Atlys Joey › Connect (also under Manage).
Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365 Copilot; GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code)Microsoft 365 Copilot takes custom connectors through an agent your administrator builds in Copilot Studio (add an MCP server tool with the address and its sign-in) and shares with you. In Visual Studio Code: MCP: Add Server from the command palette, choose HTTP, paste the address.Open the shared agent in Copilot, or in Visual Studio Code allow the sign-in it offers for Atlys Joey.
Google Gemini (the Gemini command line; the Gemini app where it offers custom connectors)In the Gemini command line: gemini mcp add --transport http atlys-joey https://joey.atlystech.com.au/your-company.Run /mcp auth atlys-joey (or sign in when prompted) and the same Joey and ERP pages open.
Cursor (and other code editors that take custom connectors)Settings › MCP › Add new MCP server: name it, choose a remote (URL) server, paste the address.Choose Needs login / Sign in on Atlys Joey in the list.
Claude Code (terminal)claude mcp add --transport http atlys-joey https://joey.atlystech.com.au/your-companyType /mcp, choose atlys-joey and Authenticate.

In every app the browser then shows the same three pages: Joey's connect page, the ERP's sign-in and the ERP's allow page.

What happens when you connect

  • Two keys, kept apart. Your ERP gives Joey a key to act for you, and Joey keeps it, encrypted. Your AI app only ever gets a key to Joey, so nothing it holds can reach your ERP without Joey. JoeyAI Chat works the same way inside Joey.
  • Joey gets ready for you (see Speed). The first time takes a little while; you can ask straight away, and answers come straight from your ERP until Joey is ready.
  • Your ERP login stays connected for 30 days from when you signed in, whether you use it or not; then you connect or sign in again.

Asking Joey

Just ask. In your own AI app you don't need to name Joey or your ERP once the connector is on, but saying "in MYOB" (or your ERP's name) helps it choose Joey when a chat is about many things.

The same kind of question answered in JoeyAI Chat
The same kind of question in JoeyAI Chat: Joey's step shows what it looked up, and the table can be copied or saved.

Joey understands your business words (debtors, overdue, open orders, stock on hand).

Questions to try

Sales

"How many sales orders did we take last month, by status?"
"Show our sales by month for the last 12 months. Which was the best month?"

Customers and receivables

"Which 10 customers owe us the most right now?"
"How much is more than 60 days overdue?"
"Which customers bought last year but nothing this year?"

Purchasing

"How many purchase orders are open, and with which vendors?"
"What did we order from suppliers last month, per currency?"

Inventory

"How much stock do we hold in each warehouse?"
"Which items sold the most units in August?"

Finance

"What were our bank account balances at the end of last month?"
"How much did customers pay us in August?"

Reports, month end and compliance

"Show the P&L against budget for March, by branch."
"Are we ready to close last month?"
"Work out our BAS figures for the last quarter." (for review; your ERP's tax report is what you lodge)
"What goes on this year's TPAR?"

Stock and sales performance

"What stock hasn't sold in six months?"
"Which items make us the most margin?"
"How many of our quotes become orders?"
"What's our DSO?"

Documents

"Look up sales order SO012345 and tell me its status and total."
"Does it have a PDF attached? Summarise it in two lines."

Charts, files and ERP links

"Chart our sales by month this year."
"Give me an Excel file of last quarter's invoices."
"Open sales order SO012345 in MYOB" or "Print it".

Not sure where to start? Ask "What can I ask Joey?" or "Starter questions for accounts payable" (or sales, warehouse, management, a new starter, construction and the like). In an AI app that lists prompts, Joey's starter questions are there too. In JoeyAI Chat they are on the welcome screen, by role and then by industry (and under Starter questions in the menu with your name). You see only questions your own ERP login can answer.

Your ERP may also have generic inquiries (saved enquiry screens). Ask "Which inquiries can I use through Joey?" and then "Run the one about open orders for this week."

JoeyAI Chat's first page with starter questions in tabs by role and industry, the Sales tab open
A new chat in JoeyAI Chat starts with starter questions by role and industry, only those your login can answer; pick one or ask your own.

Help with your ERP itself

Joey also knows your ERP itself: where a screen is on the menu, what it is for and how to do a task. Ask the way you would ask a colleague who knows your ERP well.

You

How do I raise a credit note for a customer?

Assistant

In MYOB Acumatica a credit note is a credit memo. Open Invoices and Memos (Financials > Receivables > Transactions) and either use Reverse on the released invoice, or add a new record of type Credit Memo for the customer. Take it off hold and release it, then apply it to the invoice on Payments and Applications. Goods coming back are better done as a return order, so the stock comes back in too.

Open Invoices and Memos · MYOB's help page · MYOB's article "To Create a Credit Memo"

An illustration on MYOB Acumatica. In a real answer the last line holds links that open on your own ERP site.

JoeyAI Chat answering how to raise a credit note, with the steps, the screen's place on MYOB's menu and links to MYOB's help
The same kind of question in JoeyAI Chat: the steps, the screen and where it is on the ERP's menu, whether your role opens it, and your ERP's own help.
  • Where things are, and how to do it: the screen, where it sits on the ERP's menu and a link that opens it on your site, with the Atlys team's steps and what to watch out for. Where your company has its own screens or its own way, the Atlys team adds it at your site's review and Joey gives that first.
  • Your ERP's own help: answers link to the ERP's help for each screen and its articles on the task, on your own site, for its version.
  • Your access: Joey asks your ERP whether your role opens each screen it suggests, and says so when it doesn't.

Try: "Where are customer statements?", "How do I enter a supplier's credit note?", "How do I lodge the BAS?" or "What does the Prepare Payments screen do?"

Joey Watch, forecasts and the bill check

Joey can also look ahead and look out for you. These read only: they never change a record, and they see only what your ERP role lets you see, like every other answer. They are on for every company unless your Atlys team has switched them off for yours.

Joey Watch

What needs your attention today: customers overdue, bills falling due, stock under its reorder point, price rises from suppliers, bills that look like ones already entered, unusual bills, expense claims and journals, projects over budget and work not yet billed. Each item says why it was flagged and links to the record in your ERP.

Forecasts

Cash flow for the next 4, 8 or 13 weeks from what is owed to you and what you owe, with regular customers and suppliers allowed for; what to reorder and how much; a GST check for a period. Every forecast says its assumptions. The GST check is for your review: Joey never lodges a BAS.

Sales insights

What a customer usually buys and is due to buy again, what sells with an item, and the margin on an order's lines against cost.

The bill check

Give your assistant a supplier's invoice or a receipt and Joey checks it against your ERP before anything is entered, then prepares it for you to confirm.

You

What needs my attention today?

Assistant

Three things stand out:

  • Overdue: 4 customers are more than 30 days overdue, $18,420 in all; the largest is C000123 at $9,150, 47 days.
  • Possible duplicate: bill 000566 from V000045 has the same amount and a reference like bill 000563 entered last week.
  • Reorder: WIDGET is under its reorder point in MAIN, with 9 days of stock left at its usual rate.

Shall I show the overdue customers' invoices?

An illustration with made-up records. In a real answer each item links to the record in your ERP.

Joey Watch in JoeyAI Chat: overdue customers, stock under its reorder point and projects over budget, each linked to its record
Joey Watch in JoeyAI Chat: each check that found something, the reason, and a link to the record in your ERP.

Try: "What needs my attention today?", "What does our cash flow look like for the next 13 weeks?", "What should we reorder?", "Check this supplier invoice before I enter it" (with the PDF) or "What does customer C000123 usually buy?"

  • Unusual means unusual for your business, judged from your own history, and Joey says nothing where there is too little history to judge.
  • Suggestions only: anything Joey suggests changing goes through the usual write steps and your confirmation, where write access is on.

Write access

Where your company has write access switched on, you can ask Joey to create and change records the way you would in your ERP, as your ERP role allows and nothing more. Your Atlys team switches it on after your site's review and tells you; in JoeyAI Chat it has a switch of its own. Nothing changes until you confirm.

"This remittance came in: record the payment."

How a write is made

  1. Joey proposes. You see the change (each field and line before and after) and the record's link in your ERP. Nothing has changed yet.
  2. An everyday change: you confirm in the chat. In your own AI app you say yes ("No" cancels it); in JoeyAI Chat you press Confirm or Cancel on the card. Joey makes exactly that change in your ERP as you, reads the record back and tells you what your ERP saved.
A change waiting on a card in JoeyAI Chat
In JoeyAI Chat an everyday change waits on a card until you press Confirm or Cancel.
  3. A sensitive or large change: you confirm on Joey's page. You get a confirm link with the reason. Your ERP checks it is you, and the page shows every change waiting for you from Joey's own record, under a SANDBOX or LIVE banner. You press Confirm (or Cancel).

Joey's confirm page for a sensitive change: which ERP site it is (SANDBOX or LIVE), each field now and after, a link to the record in your ERP, the number to type, and Confirm or Cancel.

Where you confirm

In the chat (on the card in JoeyAI Chat)On Joey's page
New records (they start on hold or as a draft), descriptions, dates, quantities, contacts, notes and activities, classes, a few lines and fields at a timeYou type the record's number or code: payment details, credit and terms, prices and costs, tax, customer and supplier addresses, GL set-up, payroll, and actions such as release, approve, post, pay, ship, confirm or email.
You type how many records: an action on several records at once.
Just Confirm: a larger change (many lines or fields), and attaching a file.

Actions, emails and printed forms

Actions are the buttons on the ERP's screens and in their … menus: Remove Hold, Release, Create Shipment, Prepare Invoice, Email and many more, across your ERP. Ask for one in your own words. Each is confirmed on Joey's page, where you type the document's number, and your ERP runs it as you, with its own checks.

  • Emailing a document is the screen's own Email action: your ERP sends its own template with the printed form attached, to the contacts set for that kind of document on the customer or supplier (Mailing & Printing). Joey's page links the printed form so you can look first; afterwards you're told who your ERP emailed and the email's status, and your ERP keeps it on the document's activities.
  • When emailing is off for your site (your Atlys team sets it), nothing is emailed: Joey keeps the email in your ERP unsent, marked cancelled, on the document and to its contact, and tells you so before you confirm. The printed form isn't attached; its link opens it to print or send yourself.
  • Printing: ask for the printed form and you get its link, which opens in your ERP, as you, to print or save as PDF.
  • From the document someone sent you: give Joey a customer's purchase order, a supplier's delivery docket, a remittance advice, a supplier's credit note or order confirmation (a PDF or a picture) and ask it to enter it. Joey checks it against your ERP first, as you, and shows you what it found before it proposes anything:
    • A customer's purchase order: which customer (their ABN, name or email domain), whether an order already has that PO number, each line matched by our item code, the customer's own code from their earlier orders, or the description, their price against what they paid before, and stock available. Then a sales order on hold.
    • A delivery docket or packing slip: the open purchase order it delivers, what came against what is still open, and anything not on the order. Then a purchase receipt on hold, never more than is open on a line.
    • A remittance advice: the customer's open invoices it pays, by our invoice number or their own order number, part payments and anything left over. Then a payment on hold, applied to those invoices.
    • A supplier's credit note: one entered already, the bill it is against, and how that supplier's bills are coded. Then a debit adjustment on hold.
    • A supplier's order confirmation: the quantities, costs and promised dates that differ from your purchase order, for you to confirm.
Anything Joey isn't sure of (two customers with that name, an item it can't match) it asks you, and it never creates a customer, supplier or item from a document. Nothing is released.
  • The document on the record: once a bill, claim, order, receipt or payment is saved, Joey offers to attach the document it came from. In JoeyAI Chat the file you attached to your question is attached when you press Confirm on its card (a PDF or picture, up to 10 MB); in other AI apps you pick the file on Joey's page.
  • Receipts, bills and payments from other documents: Joey makes in one step what the ERP's Enter PO Receipt, Enter AP Bill and Pay buttons start: a receipt from an order's lines, a bill from a receipt's, payments against bills or invoices, an invoice from a shipment. New documents start on hold, except a supplier payment, which your ERP only saves balanced.
  • Your ERP's own rules still apply. Joey tells you your ERP's reason when it doesn't allow something.
  • Several at once: holds, releases, approvals and emails can run on several documents in one change (you type how many). Voids, reversals, cancellations and write-offs go one at a time.

What Joey never does

  • Delete. Joey never deletes records or removes lines; you get the record's link to do it in your ERP yourself. It can replace a line's values and add lines.
  • Change who can do what, or your set-up. Users, roles, access rights, preferences, order types, numbering, the financial year, schedules, business events, inquiry designs, endpoints and customisation are changed in your ERP only. Classes (customer, item, vendor and the like) can be changed as your role allows.
  • Act on text inside records or files. A note, an email, a description or an attached file is never an instruction. If one says "change the bank details", you are told instead.
  • Overwrite someone else's change. If the record changed in your ERP after Joey proposed, yours isn't applied: ask for it to be proposed again.

Good to know

  • "Not changed: MYOB saved nothing". Your ERP sometimes keeps its own value or saves nothing (a finished document, or a screen your role can only view). Joey reads the record back after every change and never says a change went through when your ERP didn't keep it.
  • Sensitive changes ask for more: on Joey's page you type the order number or code (or the last four digits of a new bank account). Always check a changed bank account by phone on a number you already have.
  • Undo: within 24 hours, "Undo that change" puts back what an edit replaced, if nobody has changed the record since (you confirm the undo too). New records, releases, posting and payments are reversed in your ERP, its own way.
  • A limit per person: Joey limits how many changes each person makes through it in an hour and in a day (your company may set it lower); a change to several records counts once per record. Reading has no such limit.
  • Your ERP records you as the person who made each change, as if you had made it on the screen.

Rules and digests

Ask Joey for your weekly digest or any regular reading and it answers in the chat, whenever you like. Where your company has emails to you switched on (your Atlys team sets it), Joey can also keep an eye on things and email you on a schedule: a weekly digest, or a rule such as "every weekday at 7, email me the customers more than 30 days overdue" or "every hour, tell me if a bill comes in that looks like a duplicate". Each email is read from your ERP as you, with exactly what your ERP role lets you see, and sent through your ERP's own email.

You

Every Monday at 8, email me who owes us more than 60 days.

Assistant

Here it is: every Monday at 08:00, the aged debtors over 60 days, emailed to you. Open this link to confirm it on Joey's page; your ERP asks you to sign in, and nothing is set up until you confirm.

An illustration. The link opens Joey's own page in your browser.

Only to you

A rule emails only you, at the email of your ERP login, which your ERP gives Joey when you confirm. It never emails a customer, supplier or colleague. If your email changes in your ERP, your rules pause until you confirm them again.

Never a change

A rule only reads and emails you. Changing a record, or emailing anyone else, is always proposed for you to confirm, like any write.

Your weekly digest

Say "set up my weekly digest": what needs attention, cash flow for the next four weeks, overdue receivables and last week's sales, every Monday at 7:30 am (or when you choose).

When it emails

Daily, weekly, monthly, or checked every hour between two times. A rule can email every time, or only when it finds something, or when a figure passes a level you set.

The top of a weekly digest email: the headline figures, then what needs attention, each item linked to its record. Further down come the other checks, cash flow for the next four weeks, overdue receivables and last week's sales.
  • Yours alone: your rules are yours. Nobody else sees, changes or stops them, and you can't see theirs.
  • Ask Joey to manage them: "list my rules", "send my digest now", "pause my overdue rule", "stop it". Up to 20 rules each.
  • Just the figures: "show me my weekly digest" or "show my overdue rule now" answers in the chat, with no email.
  • When emails to you are off for your site (your Atlys team sets it), nothing is emailed and no rule is set up: Joey shows you the reading in the chat straight away.
  • They carry on while you're signed in: they pause if your Joey sign-in ends and carry on when you sign in again. Near the end of your sign-in, your emails say when it ends.
  • Your ERP's email: the emails are sent and kept by your ERP like any email it sends, private to you. If your company hasn't set up its ERP's email, nothing is sent; your ERP administrator sets it up.

My reports and your own workbook

Keep the reports you use every week, and keep using your own spreadsheets: Joey reads your ERP as you, so each person gets only what their ERP login allows.

Joey reports

Ready-made reports for your business. Say "Show me Joey reports" to see them by section, then pick one to run. You'll see the ones your ERP access allows. Each runs on a period that fits it and says which; ask for another any time. If you like one, save a copy to My reports and change it however you want.

My reports

  • Save one by name. When Joey has given you an answer you'll want again, say "Save this as my report Sales by status."
  • Run it any time. "Run my report Sales by status." It is read fresh from your ERP each time, so "last month" always means last month.
  • Change it in your own words. "Change my report Sales by status to this financial year only", or "rename it", "delete it". "What reports have I saved?" lists them.
  • Emailed to you on a schedule where your company has emails to you switched on: "Email me my report Sales by status every Monday at 8" (see Rules and digests).

Fill your own workbook

Keep the Excel workbook you already use for month end or a board pack. Ask Joey for the figures it needs, as sheets with the names your workbook uses: "Make me a workbook with a sheet Sales of this month's sales orders and a sheet GL of the trial balance for this month." Joey gives you a link (it works once, within 10 minutes); your ERP asks who you are, then the page offers two choices:

  • Download the workbook: the sheets, as figures, ready to copy from.
  • Fill my workbook: choose your own workbook. Sheets with the same names get the new figures; Joey adds any it doesn't have; your formulas, charts, pivot tables, formatting and other sheets stay as they are, and Excel works your formulas out again when you open it. Joey keeps no copy.
Joey's page offering to download the workbook or fill your own
The page your workbook link opens, after your ERP sign-in.

Keep the sheets Joey fills plain. Point your formulas, tables and pivot tables at them rather than turning them into Excel tables; Joey says so if a sheet it should fill holds one.

Tips for good answers

  • Name the period. "This financial year", "last month", "August 2026" or "since 1 January" keeps answers exact and quick.
  • No period means what is still active. "How many sales orders do we have?" counts the orders still in progress, leaving out closed, completed, cancelled and voided ones, and says so. For sales, revenue or payments over time, name the period.
  • Joey suggests rather than guesses. If a question is vague or would take your ERP minutes, Joey answers at once with a suggestion (a period, or what it can answer quickly) or a question back.
  • Say what counts, and mind currencies. "Sales" can mean every order, or real sales without quotes, credits and cancelled orders; the answer says which it used. With several currencies, ask for totals per currency.
  • Ask for totals, not pages of records. "How many and how much" answers in one step; lists come a page at a time, and for a long list ask for a file.
  • Build on the last answer, by code or name: "and their three biggest orders?"
  • If a figure looks wrong, say so. "That looks wrong, tell the Atlys team" sends feedback through Joey, without your figures.

A question with no period: Joey asks which one, and says which answer quickly.

Speed

Your ERP answers big questions slowly when every record has to be read. Joey answers the questions people ask most in about a second.

  • The first answers take a little longer while Joey gets ready for you after you connect.
  • Only what you can see: what your ERP role can read (payroll is never read through Joey). Older records are read when you ask about them.
  • Up to date. Joey checks with your ERP, as you, and each answer says how current it is ("up to date with MYOB as of 10:42").
  • When your ERP is busy, Joey answers at once and says how fresh the answer is.

Ask "Is Joey ready?" any time.

Before a meeting or a busy stretch, say "Joey, warm up" (or pick Joey warm up, /joeywarmup, where your AI app lists prompts). Joey brings itself up to date with your ERP straight away; ask any time to see how it's going. Your own questions still go first.

Your data and your rights

The short version, what Joey keeps and for how long, and who can see what are on one page: How Atlys Joey handles your data.

  • Your ERP decides. Every read is made as you, with your own ERP login, so the ERP's roles, restriction groups and screen rights apply. If your ERP refuses you something, Joey refuses it too, by every route.
  • Nothing changes without you. Each change waits for you to confirm it; your ERP records you as the person who made it. Joey keeps a record of what kind of change was made and when, never the values.
  • What Joey keeps: a private, encrypted copy of your recent data, for you alone while you're signed in (signing out of Joey or your ERP login ending, by default 30 days after you signed in, deletes it at once, and losing your ERP access deletes it within a day; Joey reminds you from 5 days before your sign-in ends) and, in JoeyAI Chat, your chats and files, encrypted for you alone and deleted when you sign out, files from the AI service's store too, and no chat is kept longer than 30 days. The AI's sandbox, where it works on files and charts, has no internet and expires within 30 days of being made. Joey's logs never hold names, amounts or records.
  • Files you attach for your ERP: JoeyAI Chat keeps its own encrypted copy of each PDF or picture you attach (up to 10 MB), so you can attach it to a record in your ERP. It is deleted with its question or chat, like the rest.
  • In your own AI app, the conversation is kept by that app, under its settings and your company's plan with it, until you delete it there.
  • Keys stay with Joey. Your ERP key never leaves Joey; your AI app holds only a key to Joey, which Joey can end at any time.
  • One company per connection. Joey can't switch to another company or another person's data.
  • Payroll stays in your ERP. Joey never reads pays, payslips, leave or superannuation, for anyone, so no one's pay can reach another person through Joey.
  • Bank and card details stay in your ERP too. Bank account numbers, BSBs, payment instructions and card numbers are never passed to your AI assistant. Your company's administrator can allow them for chosen people, who then see only what your ERP lets them see.

Signing out

  • JoeyAI Chat: choose Sign out under your name at the top right. When it's your only device, your chats and every file you attached or got back are deleted at once, from the AI service's store too; signed in on your phone as well, Sign out on this device signs out only there and your chats stay on the other (the menu's list signs out the other one). Your AI apps stay connected. While Joey is still answering, making a change or uploading a file, Sign out waits: stop the answer or let it finish first. To keep a chat, Export it first.
JoeyAI Chat's account menu with Sign out
Your name's menu in JoeyAI Chat, with Sign out.
  • Your own AI app: ask "Sign me out of Joey." It ends every connection you have to this Joey address, JoeyAI Chat included, hands the ERP's key back and deletes the copy of your data Joey kept. To use Joey again, choose Connect on the connector. Removing the connector in your AI app doesn't tell Joey; your ERP login through Joey then runs out 30 days after you signed in.

Questions people ask

Should I use JoeyAI Chat or my own AI app?

Your company chooses one for its Joey address with your Atlys team, and both answer the same way from the same ERP. JoeyAI Chat needs no AI app of your own and keeps the least (see Two ways to use Joey); your own AI app keeps Joey beside your other tools and conversations.

My AI app answered without asking Joey. Why?

Some apps answer from what they remember of you or of earlier chats instead of asking your ERP. Start the question with "Using Joey, …", or say "use Joey", and it asks your ERP.

Where do I find this guide again?

Joey opens the latest edition for you: in JoeyAI Chat choose User guide under your name; in your own AI app ask "Show me the Joey user guide" and open the link Joey gives you.

What does my ERP login need?

Your usual licence and roles, plus your ERP's API licence (in MYOB Acumatica Full User (Full API)), because Joey reads through your ERP's web services. Your ERP administrator adds it on the Users screen. See the API licence.

Can a colleague see my questions or my data?

No. Each person signs in with their own ERP login and gets their own private copy of their data and, in JoeyAI Chat, their own chats, encrypted for them alone. Joey's records of questions hold no values and are seen only by the Atlys team.

Does the AI learn my company's figures?

Joey hands the AI the answer to your question, like a report you asked for. In your own AI app, what the app keeps of your chats is set by its plan and settings (a business plan usually keeps chats out of training). In JoeyAI Chat, Joey holds the chat and deletes it as above. Joey itself keeps no figures outside the private, encrypted copy of your data, and nothing it learns from use holds names, amounts or records.

Why does the same question sometimes answer faster?

The second time it is usually quick: Joey is ready for it, and kept up to date with your ERP.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. JoeyAI Chat works as an app on your phone, Atlys JoeyAI, added to your home screen from its browser (see JoeyAI Chat on your phone), or simply in the browser. In your own AI app it depends on the app: in Claude, for example, once connected on the web or desktop Atlys Joey is in the mobile app too.

Who do I ask for help?

Your Atlys team: they set up your company's Joey and can see how it is running (never your data).
